Choosing orthodontic and aligner care

  • Ask your orthodontist which cleaning aids suit your appliance.
  • Carry a compact brush for cleaning after meals.
  • Use threader or spongy floss to get under wires.
  • Avoid hard, crunchy or sticky foods and chewing gum, which the NHS says can damage braces.
  • After treatment, wear your retainer exactly as instructed.
