The official and expert sources our information is based on. Every health page lists the specific sources it used.
We rely mainly on the NHS and NHS inform, the General Dental Council (the UK regulator), the British Orthodontic Society, the Oral Health Foundation (a UK oral health charity), NICE and Cochrane systematic reviews, plus official government pages for NHS charges in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Links were checked in September 2026.
