Affiliate disclosure
How Dentist Disaster pays its way, in plain English.
The short version
Some links on this website, mainly the “Where to buy” buttons on our product pages, may be affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, the retailer may pay us a small commission. It costs you nothing extra – the price is the same whether you use our link or not.
What this doesn’t change
- Our health information is never influenced by commission. Pages about problems, treatments and emergencies are written from NHS and other trusted sources.
- We don’t accept payment to include a product or to say nice things about it, and we don’t publish star ratings or rankings.
- Where official guidance says a product isn’t the best choice (for example, a shop-bought mouthguard instead of a custom one from your dentist), we say so, even if that means fewer clicks.
Banner ads
Some pages also carry banner ads from 5od, a small ad service run by the owner of this site. They’re for shops and brands in the Awin affiliate network, and they’re chosen to suit the page, not you. Each one is labelled “Ad”, and ads never change our health information. If you buy something after clicking one, we may earn a commission. Ads only load if you accept ads cookies; see how ads and cookies work here.
How to spot an affiliate link
Links to other websites go through a short redirect on our site (they start with /go/). Affiliate links are marked with rel="sponsored" in the page code, as search engines ask. If you prefer, you can always search for the retailer directly.
