Mouthwash

Corsodyl Intensive Treatment Mouthwash Mint (chlorhexidine 0.2%)

By Corsodyl

A medicated mouthwash containing chlorhexidine for short-term treatment of gum problems and mouth ulcers – not an everyday rinse. The NHS says chlorhexidine dental treatments are usually used for up to 4 weeks and can temporarily stain teeth. Always read the label and ask a pharmacist or dentist if unsure.

Can be useful for

A product can support daily care but can’t treat a dental problem on its own. See a dentist if symptoms persist.

Choosing mouthwash

  • Choose a fluoride mouthwash if your goal is decay prevention.
  • Use mouthwash at a different time from brushing.
  • Treat chlorhexidine rinses as short-term medicines and read the leaflet.
  • Check age limits on the label – some are not suitable for young children.
  • Mouthwash does not replace brushing or cleaning between teeth; see a dentist about persistent bad breath or bleeding gums.
